As the moon goes through a monthly cycle, so do we as women. This cycle ought to be something we consider special and take pride in rather than something we are ashamed of. Daisy Girl's moon pads help make your moon a more comfortable and pleasurable time. They are made with only the highest quality fabrics, with a super soft layer of cotton flannel against your skin. Hemp fleece or double napped cotton flannel is sandwiched between the top flannel layer and bottom fleece layer to give you maximum absorbency. My pads contain no pul/waterproof layer making these the most breathable pads you can buy. The fleece layer keeps anything from leaking through while providing maximum breathabilty. Double napped cotton flannel works well for the middle "soaker" layer because of its absorbancy and faster drying time (when compared to hemp). Hemp fleece also works well for the middle "soaker" layers because of its high absorption and antimicrobial properties. The fleece layer serves two purposes. It keeps moisture inside the pad from leaking out while providing breathability, also in the pads without wings works to "hold" them to your underwear. The fleece holds the pad in place so it won't move around when you do.

Why Cloth?

-more comfortable for you
Once you try cloth you will never go back, and you will wonder why you didn't try it sooner. No more paper against your skin, no more dreading Aunt Flo's monthly visit, instead you can enjoy comfort and take pride in your being a woman. Not to mention cloth pads don't have that nasty odor that disposables tend to have. You deserve to be comfortable and to be proud of your femininity.

-better for your body
Mentally you can feel better about your cycle and doing good for the earth rather than being wasteful in using throw away products, some women have even said they have seen drastic reduction in PMS and related symptoms since switching to cloth. Also numerous women have reactions to disposable products because of the plastic and glue backing which reduces the breathability and can contribute to rashes, odors, or even yeast infections, cloth can help with if not eliminate these problems by allowing your body to breathe (this is why there is no pul/waterproof layer in my products).

-better for the environment
In the US alone, there are over 85 million women of menstruating age, and according to the National Women’s Health Network, they contribute approximately twelve billion pads and 7 million tampons to landfill each year. The average woman uses approximately 11,000-13,000 menstrual pads or tampons each during their menstruating years. You can make a difference by switching to cloth!

-it's just more fun
My pads are made with fun and whimsical prints guaranteed to make you smile, definitely more fun and interesting than white paper. I suggest buying a variety of colors and prints to keep it interesting.

-saves you money
Just think about how many pads/tampons you use any given month, add the costs of those to the cost of investing in cloth products, cloth pads last usually a minimum of 5 years (up to 10) before they need to be replaced. So not only are you doing something better for your body and the environment, but you can also save yourself money by doing so!

How do I care for my cloth pads?

Simply run them under cold water to rinse them off, then squeeze them out. Place in a storage container (Daisy Girl's Moon Jar *coming soon* works well for this) with cold water and let sit until wash day (no longer than a full day without a water change). For those times when you are out keep a Daisy Girl's wet bag on hand to store your used pads in, then rinse and soak when you get home. The used water is wonderful for watering plants and is great fertilizer for them, and is a wonderful way to give back to the earth during your cycle. Wash with your clothes at desired temperature and tumble or hang to dry.
